3rd Oregon State University Summer Program at Ebiil
A total of 16 students and three professors recently visited for the 3rd Oregon State University (OSU) Summer Program at Ebiil- an annual program for natural resource management.
The Program, which was interrupted by COVID-19, is now able to resume the natural resource management course for OSU. Similar to Camp Ebiil, the university students explore nature, environment studies, and learn traditional knowledge. Studies included forest restoration, fishery restoration, fishing, and visits to mesei, Ebiil Channel, and caves.
The visiting professors included Demian Hommel, a senior instructor in Geography and Geospatial Sciences. His plan is to add classes in environmental studies – human dimensions by summer of 2023.
