A Good Opportunity to Heal Palau

In March, Palau closed incoming flights and we were suddenly separate from the outside world. COVID-19 is still unknown to Palau yet we observe it through media and understand how so many countries stood still as the pandemic grew. With much time on our hands, it is a good opportunity to heal environmental damage and initiate education. These are some of the September highlights with education and results of our programs.

REPLANTING IN MINED AREAS

The results show for themselves. Ebiil Society has been working with Ngardmau and Ngeremlegui States to replant areas damaged by mining during the last century. In September, Palau was blessed with abundant rainfall after dry conditions in the spring. Thank you Earth for the rain to help grow our seedlings. In addition, Ebiil Society purchased a wood chipper to increase fertilization of the thin topsoil.
