Ebiil / Bureau of Marine Resources Plant 10,000 Semum

In a partnership to work collaboratively in marine habitat restoration, Ebiil Society  and the Bureau of Marine Resources planted 10,000 semum- trochus on January 5, 2021.

Semum collections have been a part of Palau’s economic agenda for local fishers. However, collections have been cancelled in past years due to low numbers. Usually occurring during the low tides in June, semum is harvested for export of the shell and local consumption of the meat.
