Microplastics Contest Winners

As part of the 5th Anniversary Celebration of the Palau National Marine Sanctuary, Ebiil Society held a contest in which students guessed the number of microplastics in a jar.

Congratulations go to the winners of the “Guess how much micro plastics are in the jar/container”, Andrea Uchel and Ibuuch Kumaichi. They were each given a plant to take care of and grow.

Understanding microplastics and the harmful affects that it has on the food chain is vitally important and reason enough to encourage recycling and proper disposal of plastics and foam. Once these tiny pieces are consumed by the smallest marine life, they harm the entire food chain right up to your dinner plate!

Remember: If you see it, pick it up!
